I reviewed revised plans with my father when we were on a short trip to Canada. It was always good to sit down seriously in the daytime under good light and study the plans. However, some of the best ideas came when you looked at them in more casual surroundings. Like a loud bar after a few good BC beers.

The context changes the perspective. I've found that when you're always in the same place and in the same mood, you can always see plans in the same way. You can imagine that the house is different in summer than in winter, when you are tired or full of energy, when you feel sociable or want space. You will be in many different states and have many different needs when you live in the house, and it was helpful for me to bring some of it into the design process.
